Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Sift flours, baking soda and salt together. Pour into a large bowl. Stir in oatmeal. Make a well in the center. Add buttermilk. Stir together until a soft dough forms. Turn out onto a lightly-floured surface and knead lightly. Do not overknead. Shape into an 8" round and score an "X" across the top with a sharp knife. Transfer to a cookie-sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake 45 minutes or until the bread makes a hollow sound when tapped on the bottom. Serves 12. Per serving: 202 calories, 1 g fat (0 g saturated), 2 mg cholesterol, 41 g carbohydrate, 5 g fiber, 8 g protein, 6% calcium, 12% iron
