Peaches, vanilla yogurt, orange juice and milk make these peach smoothies a recipe to remember.

Peach smoothie recipes don't get much tastier or healthier than this one. With a whopping 7 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber, 53% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for Vitamin C and 33% of the RDA for calcium per serving, this smoothie recipe makes a perfect healthy breakfast on its own or a great accompaniment to tropical cheesecake breakfast bars.

These peach smoothies also make a great late-afternoon snack when you need a little energy boost.

If you can't find frozen peaches in your local grocery store, you can easily freeze your own. Just peel and cut fresh peaches into thin (1/2-inch) slices. Place in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper. Freeze for 20 to 30 minutes. Transfer the peach slices to a zip-top freezer bag, and store in the freezer until you are ready to use.

Because frozen peaches are big, they can be difficult to puree in a typical blender. If you have a Vita-Mix blender, by all means, use that. If not, a food processor will work well, too.

Or you can simply use fresh peach slices in place of frozen, and add 1 cup of crushed ice to the recipe.

This recipe calls for vanilla bean paste as an optional ingredient. You can find vanilla bean paste at upscale gourmet stores or Trader Joe's. It is simply a thick vanilla extract (almost the consistency of honey or syrup) with little vanilla beans in it. It is a wonderful way to add pure vanilla flavoring to foods without having to buy vanilla beans.
